Cost of Living for Masters (MSc) in Network Security in Ireland

Ireland is a beautiful country, and when you get the opportunity to study here, don’t miss it. Migrating to Ireland means you can study at some of the best universities and harness a wide range of employment opportunities. As Ireland is connected to other countries in Europe, studying here and shifting to another EU country becomes easier. As you are studying here, in addition to paying the tuition fees and other expenses, you also need to know the estimated cost of living in Ireland while studying network security. For living here, you have two options, either you can get on-campus accommodation, which costs less, or you can rent a room or apartment outside the campus, which is relatively costly. The on-campus accommodation cost for network security in Ireland is between €300 to €400 per month. You will stay in the college hostel or dorm and share a room with another student. Living on campus has its own advantages. You won’t have to worry about commuting to the campus every day for classes, and you will even get food within the campus.

Compared to this, the living cost for Indian students in Ireland per month to study network security outside is between €900 to €1,300. This is when you decide to take a room on rent in the neighborhoods closer to your campus. This means that you will be spending more than 2x of the cost when living outside the campus as compared to living on the campus. Moreover, the living expenses are not limited to paying the rent; you also have to pay for food, groceries, and other utilities. There’s the cost to get entertainment, buy study materials, equipment, and much more. So, arranging for all these costs is essential.

When you take an education loan, there is the option of getting an additional amount added to bear the cost of living in Dublin to study Masters (MSc) in Ireland. However, this will only increase the loan amount and the EMIs for the repayment. When you take an education loan from a bank or an NBFC, the repayment for the same will begin after your course duration is complete, plus six months. This means that for a two-year course, the first EMI has to be six months from the day your course finishes. The bank gives a student these six months to find a job. In case you are getting an additional amount for the living expenses in Ireland for Non EU network security students, the additional amount will be credited to your account. At the same time, the tuition fee will be credited directly to the university’s account where you have gained admission.

There’s another way to take care of the living expenses in Ireland, and that is by getting a job. International students are allowed to work part-time in Ireland, which means they can work for up to 20 hours a week. Working these many hours at €10 to €20 per hour means you can earn between €200 to €400 per week, which is the bare minimum you can get to support your living expenses. In addition, students can work for a full 8 hours a day and 40 hours a week during designated holidays. Given all the expenses, the per month cost of living in Ireland for a single person studying network security falls between €1,000 to €1,500 per month.
